I really feel like I should make these weekly fitness blog posts more interesting, but since I still don't really feel like I know what I'm doing, they'll probably just keep this format for now. In any case, it's supposed to be about me keeping accountable, so posting at all is really more the point. 

February 15-21

  • Total Change: +0.6 kg

This week was a nice improvement as far as my workouts and step counts went. I got in my two workouts, and I hit my step goal every day. Not only that, I also beat my step goal by a lot on four of the seven days. I was over 14000 steps three days, and over 13000 one other day. Plus, I made my first effort towards getting back to running. I took a walk along my old running route yesterday, and realized I definitely miss my run through the park.

I may not start running right away. Mainly because I'm a scaredy-cat. My only real time to go for a run is early in the morning, and my route is through a dark wooded park, and I just don't really feel like that's a safe plan. But the days are getting longer, so I should be able to get back to it soon. In the meantime, I'll just keep up with my gym workouts, and try to make sure I balance the cardio and weights. 

Speaking of weight, I'm not really sure why my weight jumped this week. I know I didn't eat particularly great this week, but I didn't think it was any worse than before. I'll have to keep an eye on that this week. Maybe try to focus on eating more veggies this week.

Otherwise, I'm going to stick to the plan. Two workouts. Maybe walk my route again on a weekend afternoon. I'm going to try to change up my workout plans. I've been focusing mostly on upper body and abs, and then using the stationary bike for cardio. But I should probably give some more thought to my legs. Maybe start adding squats and lunges to the mix. I'll look online for some workout ideas. 

Anyway, that's all I've got for this week. I feel pretty good about last week, and pretty confident I can make it continue into this week!
