Alright. It's 2015. And I've had a few days to think about it, so I'm going to set my goals for the year. Officially. Here goes!
1. Keep up with this blog. Whether it's something nerdy, something personal, something silly, or something serious, I pledge to post at least one blog post every week. I have a lot of ideas that should make this easy. I just have to stick to the plan.
2. Take more pictures. Every year, the various social networks I'm part of show off everyone's "year in review" and I'm always a little disappointed in mine because I don't take a lot of pictures, and therefore don't have many to share. I'm not sure how I'm going to make this work, but I'm going to try to document thing better in my blog, so I might as well commit to taking pictures to go along with it.
3. Get back to the gym. This one is going to be tough. I've got a big mental block with this one. I always come up with excuses not to work out. Several of my friends have been talking about their plans to keep accountable via blogs and other online mediums, and I am going to take a page out of their books and give that a shot. I'm not exactly sure on the details yet, but regular checkins with a scheduled blog post are my rough plan so far. Perhaps even some before and after (progress) photos to help with the previous goal of taking more pictures.
I will have a future post within the next week going over my exact goals for this, and how I'll measure my progress, because it's one thing to say that I want to be more active, and leave it up for interpretation, but it's another to set specific goals and take measurements along the way. And the latter is what I'm going for.
Those are my major goals for the year. I have a few others, but they're pretty minor compared to the ones above. But they will also, hopefully, help with my first goal of blogging more. I have a whole bunch of TV shows, movies, books, and video games I want to catch up on. Scheduling time to do all of these things, and making regular updates about it here, should help with that. This goal might seem a bit contradictory to my fitness goal, but I think that with proper time management, I can find a way to do both.
Anyway, these entertainment updates will sometimes come in the form of challenges. They might be challenges I set for myself, or challenges set for me by others. And the first challenge has already been set for me by my good friend Andrea, The Everyday Optimist. I'm calling it the Andrea Challenge: BSG Edition. That's right, I've been challenged to FINALLY watch all of Battlestar Galactica. I started watching it a while ago, and for some reason just kind of... stopped. But I'm taking Andrea's challenge, and will keep record of my progress here.
So that's my first post for 2015. As I said, expect another update within the next week for my fitness goals, and I'll try to come up with a schedule going forward. I'm excited for 2015, and I'm looking forward to everything that it will bring. Including, hopefully, some new successes here in the blog department.
